About

Hi! I’m Nate and I’ve spent the last couple decades writing in various corners of the Internet.

It started with message boards on GameFAQs way back when, after which I gradually figured out how to put my thoughts together over the course of many poorly-written reviews and discussions about PlayStation 2 games. Later I had some reviews featured on the front page of GiantBomb.com, contributed to a short-lived-but-very-sweet community-run online magazine called the Luchazine, and spent hours toiling away on Giant Bomb’s wiki, editing pages and writing about different series and bits of lore that I felt I knew something about. A few years ago I began trying my hand at writing about movies thanks to the joy of using Letterboxd and it’s become one of my favorite topics to put to paper (digitally).

Bridging the two is a common interest in seeing how creative people succeed–or not, as the case may be–in bringing their visions to life. What are the stories they are telling, and how are they doing it? What are they asking of or trying to tell the audience? These things and more are what I try to capture even just a little bit of in my writing.
